01 — CONTEXT
The context
At an international trade fair, «we’ll fix it tomorrow» is not an option. Since 2020 I have built systems for international fairs and institutional pavilions for Turespaña, Turismo de Andalucía, Red.es, ADIF, Extenda and Turismo de Asturias, at FITUR, MWC Barcelona, ITB Berlin and WTM London. Each system has a date, a physical space and specific devices it has to work on.

02 — PROBLEM
The problem
Agencies and public bodies have creative ideas that need to become technically possible: data-driven video walls, networking, bookings, participation. The application never lives alone: it runs alongside 4K screens, tablets, phones, QR codes, NFC, stand staff and thousands of visitors.

03 — CONSTRAINTS
The constraints
- 01Unusual resolutions and large-format screens.
- 02Unreliable connectivity inside the venue.
- 03Mixed hardware and a physical build-up with a fixed date.
- 04Non-technical operators and last-minute changes.

04 — SYSTEM
What I decided to build
Three systems within the same craft. Andalusian Crush Smart Pavilion (FITUR 2024, Turismo de Andalucía): dynamic content, data and emotions on overhead screens and 4K video walls. Andalusian Crush Link — Match & Meet (ITB and WTM 2024–2026, Turismo de Andalucía): tables, attendees and meetings with tablets, NFC/QR, statuses, a timer, a 4K occupancy display and real-time data displays. Spain MWC 2024 (Red.es): a networking web app with an agenda, matching profiles, recommended companies and direct contact.

05 — ARCHITECTURE
System architecture
SOFTWARE
Software
- Mobile apps and touch interfaces for visitors and stand staff.
- Table tablets with NFC/QR, statuses and a meeting timer.
- A networking web app with a personalized agenda and profiles.
- Operations panels and displays for large-format screens.
DATA
Data
- Registrations, meetings, table occupancy and interactions.
- The pavilion’s data and emotions turned into visual content for the space itself.
- A 4K occupancy display and vertical displays with real-time networking data.
- Audience reactions to each campaign image, counted and shown on screen.
AI / AUTOMATION
AI and automation
- Table statuses and timers synchronized between tablets and the display.
- QR/NFC registration and automatic emails.
- Recommendations of matching companies, profiles and content in the web app.
- Screens that update themselves with the stand’s activity.

06 — DECISIONS
Key decisions, and why
Design for the real physical environment
Device, resolution, connectivity and who will operate it are decided at the start, not on build-up day.
A fallback for every piece
If the network or a device fails, the stand has to keep working. Operations cannot depend on a single connection.
Screens that say something
A video wall showing the pavilion’s own data communicates more than a looping video, and becomes part of the story of the space.
Interfaces for non-technical staff
Stand teams change every day. Tablets and panels have to make sense without training.

07 — RESULT
Result
- Systems used in production at FITUR, ITB, WTM and MWC Barcelona, inside institutional pavilions.
- Andalusian Crush Link, in use at ITB and WTM between 2024 and 2026.
- Earlier, since FITUR 2020: video-wall quizzes, pavilion apps, brochure kiosks, booking managers and event websites for Turespaña, ADIF, Turismo de Andalucía, Turismo de Asturias and Extenda / Andalucía TRADE.
No invented business figures: what is shown exists and is documented.

08 — STACK
Tech stack
- Vue
- Nuxt
- Laravel
- APIs
- QR
- NFC
- Real time
- 4K screens
09 — SIMILAR PROBLEMS
Similar problems I can solve
- →Your agency has an activation idea and needs to turn it into a real technical architecture.
- →A stand needs bookings, registration or networking that non-technical staff can run.
- →You want screens that show data and activity, not a looping video.
This project is an example of custom software and data intelligence.
